Hosted by Del and Shevawn Shields, Best of America by Horseback showcases America from the saddle, featuring trail riding destinations across the United States and beyond. Since 2005, the series has aired weekly on RFD-TV and is recognized as one of the nation’s leading trail riding programs.
Each episode highlights horse-friendly destinations viewers can experience themselves—whether traveling with their own horses or, in some locations, riding horses provided on-site. We go beyond the ride, covering trail conditions, terrain, difficulty levels, lodging, camping, and access for trailers and rigs.
The series also offers practical guidance for horse owners, including trailering safety, trip planning, stopover locations, veterinary considerations, and equine nutrition. Even non-riders enjoy the scenic landscapes, wildlife, and local history featured throughout.
