Frequently Asked Questions About
Best of America by Horseback
The show Best of America by Horseback is airing on RFD-TV and The Cowboy Channel, but RFD-TV is no longer posting a fixed weekly timeslot for it. Because of that, the day and time can vary from week to week.
The best way to find the next airing is to check RFD-TV’s or The Cowboy Channel’s weekly program schedule a day or two ahead—this is currently the only place the network updates airtimes.
We’ll post any updated schedule information as soon as it becomes available.

Most of our rides are three-day excursions (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and require you to bring your own horse. If a ride location offers rentals, we’ll note that in the ride details.
You can view all of our current ride locations on our website under the Rides & Events tab. We are constantly adding new rides, so be sure to check back often!
If we don’t answer right away, please leave a message and we’ll return your call shortly!
Most of our rides can be secured with a $25.00 deposit. For our more expensive rides, we will need more upfront to secure. Call our office to learn more:

Most of our destinations will require you to bring your own horse. Some ranches do provide horses. You may inquire by email at: Singingpoet_1@hotmail.com
Most of our trail riding ventures do require participants to bring their own horse. However, some ranches or destinations do offer horses for rent. If you’re interested in a specific ride, we encourage you to reach out to us directly, and we’ll be happy to let you know if horse rentals are available at that location.
As far as experience level goes, it’s best for riders to have some experience before joining one of our rides. Our typical schedule includes riding about three hours each day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which can be challenging for a beginner. Additionally, rental horses, if available, may be more difficult to manage within a group of unfamiliar horses.
For inexperienced riders, we recommend taking lessons or going on shorter, supervised rides before joining us to ensure you feel confident and can fully enjoy the experience. We want everyone to have a safe and memorable time out on the trails!
Feel free to contact us with any further questions or to discuss your riding needs. We’re here to help!
We offer a variety of sponsorship options to help promote your business to our dedicated audience of horseback enthusiasts. You can learn more by visiting our Our Sponsors page, calling us at 620-433-1819, or emailing singingpoet_1@hotmail.com. We’d love to help you get involved!
Yes! We love helping riders find great locations to ride. Feel free to email us to get your location listed on our website! We have a page dedicated to nationwide rides and events where you can have your event listed for $19.95 a month. Do you still offer the Lifetime Membership program? Are past Lifetime Memberships still valid?
No. The Lifetime Membership program was created and managed many years ago under the show’s previous ownership. The program was discontinued before Del and Shevawn Shields took over Best of America by Horseback, and it is no longer part of the current organization.
Because the program ended under the former ownership, the current Best of America by Horseback team is not able to honor or reinstate past Lifetime Memberships. We understand this may be disappointing, and we want to provide this clarification so all guests have accurate, up-to-date information when planning to ride with us.
We welcome all riders to join us at upcoming events and appreciate your understanding as we continue building great experiences for our community.
Tom Seay, the original creator of Best of America by Horseback, has transitioned from the show to focus on his cattle ranch, Andora Farm. Del Shields and his wife, Shevawn, now serve as the hosts and producers of the show, continuing to bring you incredible trail riding adventures. You can find more information about Tom and his ranch at: https://www.andorafarm.com/
