June 3-8, 2019 ♦ Historic Chisholm Trail Activities
Join Tom and Pat Seay as they film a 4 part series on the Chisholm Trail!
This ride expands across five days and a 60 mile ride, including a portion of driving cattle on the actual Chisholm Trail in Kansas.
Each show will showcase the history of the famous cattle drive in that town and area of the cattle drive trail.
We will begin in Caldwell , ride to Mayfield, then to Wellington Lake, on to Clearwater, and then a ride into the famous cattle town of Wichita. Our ride is scheduled to be along back country dirt roads to avoid traffic and follow the course of the trail. The ride length will be 9 to 15 miles a day, at an easy walk with plenty of rest stops and a hour plus lunch break.
Events that are being planned include: chuck wagon cooking, interviews with historians along the trail, historic re-enactments, and a portion of the ride as driving cattle along the original trail.
Each night we will camp primitive, but all trailers are welcome, including transport of riders to move their trailers each day. Each night we will furnish dinner, complete with a kick-off banquet and guest speakers to the final banquet at the end of the ride. We will finish off every night with a campfire, speakers, and live cowboy music.
Included is the nightly camping with an extra day available in Caldwell, evening meals including the banquet to begin and at the end, all the historical speakers, a segment with a cattle drive on the actual trail itself, nightly campfire and music, escort and safety vehicles, guides, and the music show at the end. Better yet, you and your horse will be on each episode riding with Tom and Pat Seay.
A $25 deposit saves your spot on the ride-- spaces are very limited!
